In distress my God I called to you

Min hamitsar elokai karati elecha

In distress my God I called to you

Hagesher odenu tsar

The bridge is still narrow

Aich ochal biladecha

How can I do it without you

La’avor lachtsot

To cross this divide

Aich ochal zot la’asot How can I do this

Ani yodea she’oznecha kashuvot

I know that your ears are attentive

Ad ya’avor zaam

Until the storm passes

Heichan ochel lehistater

Where can I hide

Uchmo bechol paam etstarech becha leheazer

And like every time I need your aid

Ki biladecha klum lo shave Because besides you nothing is worthy

eani yoshev umikave And I sit and hope

Sheyavo yom That day will come

Vetitgale And you’ll be revealed

El yoshev baseter aliyon

God seated hidden on high

Halo shamata neakat banecha Have you not heard the groaning of your sons?

Al pee hateva vehahigayon

According to nature and logic

Mizman avadnu

We would be lost long ago

Lule rachamecha

If not for your mercy

Ana ten tachat knafecha machase

Please give under your wings shelter

Ulemanenu nes taase

And for us do a miracle

  1. Trying to remember the words to a song, in an unfamiliar language. I am not sure that spelling is even close. It’s good to see the Ethiopians in the photo praying.

    Blessings,
    Sandi
