Tehillim / Psalm 122:6

Pray for shalom in Yerushalayim; may those who love you prosper.

שַׁאֲלוּ, שְׁלוֹם יְרוּשָׁלִָם;    יִשְׁלָיוּ, אֹהֲבָיִךְ.

The song “Jerusalem” from the first album of Uzia Zadok ‘Shomer Israel’

Words: From the sources and Sharon Abilach
Music: Sharon Abilhak
Adaptation and musical production: Doron Elimelech

Words:

May peace be in your army, peace in your palaces,
Deep in your heart, your memory is engraved and the tears are flowing by themselves,
For the sake of my brother and my companion I shall speak peace to you,
We will always be with you, together forever.

Today our feet stand at your gates, Jerusalem, Jerusalem,
We have not stopped hoping, we want you, Jerusalem, Jerusalem.

Jerusalem raised mountains around her and the Lord around his people,
Wherever we go, we will continue to read on your behalf, and in the streets of the city to walk.

Sukkot – Celebrating Living Waters

sukkot.JPG

A celebration of a most joyous holy occasion!

Day one to day eight of a holy tabernacle of togetherness with our God, ADONAI

A seven day sukkah of holy tribute to events of old

Fruits, palm fronds, thick branches and river-willows decoratively covering hardship of (sinful) slavery in remembrance of freedom

A flowing freedom from the rivers of living waters

Flowing from the spring of Salvation (haYeshu’ah / הַיְשׁוּעָֽה)

Flowing from your inmost being as we trust in our priestly King of Israel!

Yeshua haMashiach

Don’t abandon this source of Living Water! [Selah]

As on the future day of victory when fresh water will flow out of Jerusalem,

our priestly King of Israel, will the King of the whole world

On this day, His Name will be the only Name!

Yeshua haMashiach

The name that means salvation

Salvation for everyone

All glory to Yeshua, our priestly King of Israel!

For in future times, no rain will fall, no river will overflow

If we (Jew and Gentile Nations) abandon the festival of Sukkot

If we forget this holy tabernacle of togetherness with our God

This river of the water of life, sparkling like crystal,

Flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb

Don’t abandon this source of Living Water! [Selah]

All glory to our Almighty Living God of Israel

Our God! The God of our salvation

The God of my strength, my song, my shelter and my fortress!

We are Your people!

You’ve opened the gates of righteousness for me, for all of us

Our God! The God of our salvation

Our Yeshu’ah!

Don’t abandon this source of Living Water! [Selah]

Please, ADONAI! Save us! Please, ADONAI! Rescue us!

In the name of Yeshua

Amen

Yom Teruah 5778: Trumpets announcing judgement, repentance and joy (the Book of Zephaniah)

YT.JPG

This Wednesday evening it is Yom Teruah – the day of blowing the shofar / trumpet. According to Leviticus 23, we’re to observe this appointed time on the first day of the seventh month (traditionally called Tishrei or the biblical name of Etanim – [1 Kings 8:2]).

Leviticus 23

23 ADONAI said to Moshe,

24 “Tell the people of Isra’el, ‘In the seventh month, the first of the month is to be for you a day of complete rest for remembering, a holy convocation announced with blasts on the shofar.

25 Do not do any kind of ordinary work, and bring an offering made by fire to ADONAI.'”

(Traditionally, this day is called the Jewish New Year or Rosh Hashanah )

L-Shana-Tova_new.png

Now that we know that Yom Teruah is one of the Moedim (מועדים / appointed times) and that we should observe this day as a shabbat, but what does it signify? Well, blowing of the shofar / trumpet indicates the announcement of a specific event. Throughout the Word of God, we read that this announcement could be either a call to worship, to repent, to battle and war, to cause fear and confusion of the enemy, to announce freedom (joy) or judgement, or usher in the presence of the Lord. For example, in the Book of Joshua we read that when the Israelites entered the Land of Israel, the fortified city of Jericho were destroyed after 7 days (Joshua 6 ). For each of these seven days, the priests blew on their shofars and shouted on the seventh day. Also in Judges 7, we read how 300 men used their trumpets to allow ADONAI to defeat their enemies. In 1 Thessalonians 4 :16 we also read that:

16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a rousing cry, with a call from one of the ruling angels, and with God’s shofar; those who died united with the Messiah will be the first to rise;

For this blog post, I was drawn to the words from the Prophet Zephaniah (Tz’fanyah / צְפַנְיָה) (the meaning of this prophet’s name is: ADONAI has concealed; ADONAI has protected; and treasured by ADONAI). Just like the name suggests, ADONAI’S message given to this prophet is broadly contained in three sections: firstly, judgement is coming but the time is concealed, secondly, HIS people will be protected and avoid judgement and thirdly, we are treasured by ADONAI therefore He will give us joy – a celebration as we’re no longer subject to judgement.

Let’s read the first section of this prophet’s message that spells out the coming judgement:

Zephaniah 1:14 to 18:

14 The great Day of ADONAI is near, near and coming very quickly; Hear the sound of the Day of ADONAI! When it’s here, even a warrior will cry bitterly.

15 That Day is a Day of fury, a Day of trouble and distress, a Day of waste and desolation, a Day of darkness and gloom, a Day of clouds and thick fog,

16 a Day of the shofar and battle-cry against the fortified cities and against the high towers [on the city walls].

17 “I will bring such distress on people that they will grope their way like the blind, because they have sinned against ADONAI. Their blood will be poured out like dust and their bowels like dung.

18 Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to save them. On the day of ADONAI’s fury, the whole land will be destroyed in the fire of his jealousy. For he will make an end, a horrible end, of all those living in the land.”

The prophet specifically indicates that silver nor gold (i.e money) will be unable to save people on the day of Judgement and one can’t buy salvation. What is one of the world’s main obsessions? It’s money. For some, money is the end all and be all of everything. It’s one of the reason why people have fallen away from ADONAI due to idolising money.

Yeshua ha Mashiach (ישוע המשיח) explicitly mentioned in Matthew 6:24 that we can’t serve money and ADONAI.

24 No one can be slave to two masters; for he will either hate the first and love the second, or scorn the second and be loyal to the first. You can’t be a slave to both God and money.

Yeshua also mentioned in Matthew 6:19-21 that we should focus on building up treasures in Heaven:

19 “Do not store up for yourselves wealth here on earth, where moths and rust destroy, and burglars break in and steal.
20 Instead, store up for yourselves wealth in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and burglars do not break in or steal.
21 For where your wealth is, there your heart will be also.

It is also recorded in the Mishna that “[i]n the hour of a person’s departure, neither silver nor gold nor precious stones nor pearls accompany him, only Torah and good works.” (Avot 6:9 – Jewish New Testament Commentary by David Stern as quoted on the blog “My Heart is for Israel“).

Secondly, ADONAI always has a plan for us; a way to find HIM and to walk with HIM. ADONAI revealed this to Zephaniah, that there is a way to avoid judgement and find ADONAI’s protection: Repent / Teshuvah (seek ADONAI).

We read in Zephaniah 2:3:

3 Seek ADONAI, all you humble in the land, you who exercise his justice; seek righteousness, seek humility – you might be hidden on the day of ADONAI’s anger.

Money isn’t going to help you on the day of Judgement. Only by seeking and humbling (repenting) yourself before ADONAI, will you be saved and receive salvation.

The third section of ADONAI’s message giving to Zephaniah to record, is that the sound of the shofar that announces judgement will be turned into the sound of announcing joy and happiness as we are treasured by ADONAI. It’s a celebration! We should sing and shout because ADONAI has removing the judgement against us and we’re serving the King of Israel, Yeshua ha Mashiach (the Messiah) who is always with us.

We read in Zephaniah 3: 13 -20 that:

13 The remnant of Isra’el will not do wrong, nor will they speak lies, nor will there be found in their mouths a tongue given over to deceit; for they will be able to graze and lie down, with no one to disturb them.

14 Sing, daughter of Tziyon! Shout, Isra’el! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, daughter of Yerushalayim!

15 ADONAI has removed the judgments against you, he has expelled your enemy; the king of Isra’el, ADONAI, is right there with you. You no longer need to fear that anything bad will happen.

16 On that day, it will be said to Yerushalayim, “Do not fear, Tziyon! don’t let your hands droop down.

17 ADONAI your God is right there with you, as a mighty savior. He will rejoice over you and be glad, he will be silent in his love, he will shout over you with joy.”

18 “I will gather those of yours who grieve over the appointed feasts and bear the burden of reproach [because they cannot keep them].

19 When that time comes, I will deal with all those who oppress you. I will save her who is lame, gather her who was driven away, and make them whose shame spread over the earth the object of praise and renown.

20 When that time comes, I will bring you in; when that time comes, I will gather you and make you the object of fame and praise among all the peoples of the earth – when I restore your fortunes before your very eyes,” says ADONAI.

As we should sing and shout, our victory song is found in Psalm 98.

A psalm: Sing a new song to ADONAI, because he has done wonders. His right hand, his holy arm have won him victory.

2 ADONAI has made known his victory; revealed his vindication in full view of the nations,

3 remembered his grace and faithfulness to the house of Isra’el. All the ends of the earth have seen the victory of our God.

4 Shout for joy to ADONAI, all the earth! Break forth, sing for joy, sing praises!

5 Sing praises to ADONAI with the lyre, with the lyre and melodious music!

6 With trumpets and the sound of the shofar, shout for joy before the king, ADONAI!

7 Let the sea roar, and everything in it; the world, and those living in it.

8 Let the floods clap their hands; let the mountains sing together for joy

9 before ADONAI, for he has come to judge the earth; he will judge the world rightly and the peoples fairly.

Let’s listen to this psalm sung in Hebrew

To conclude: Judgement is coming. The time has been concealed as mentioned by Yeshua in various verses such as Mark 13:32-37, Matthew 24:36-44 ; Matthew 25:13:

Mark 13:32-37:

32 However, when that day and hour will come, no one knows — not the angels in heaven, not the Son, just the Father.
33 Stay alert! Be on your guard! For you do not know when the time will come.
34 “It’s like a man who travels away from home, puts his servants in charge, each with his own task, and tells the doorkeeper to stay alert.
35 So stay alert! for you don’t know when the owner of the house will come,
36 whether it will be evening, midnight, cockcrow or morning — you don’t want him to come suddenly and find you sleeping!
37 And what I say to you, I say to everyone: stay alert!”
 Matthew 24:36-44:
36 “But when that day and hour will come, no one knows — not the angels in heaven, not the Son, only the Father.
37 For the Son of Man’s coming will be just as it was in the days of Noach
38 Back then, before the Flood, people went on eating and drinking, taking wives and becoming wives, right up till the day Noach entered the ark;
39 and they didn’t know what was happening until the Flood came and swept them all away. It will be just like that when the Son of Man comes.
40 Then there will be two men in a field — one will be taken and the other left behind.
41 There will be two women grinding flour at the mill — one will be taken and the other left behind.
42 So stay alert, because you don’t know on what day your Lord will come.
43 But you do know this: had the owner of the house known when the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and not allowed his house to be broken into.
44 Therefore you too must always be ready, for the Son of Man will come when you are not expecting him.

Matthew 25:13:

13 So stay alert, because you know neither the day nor the hour.

Thus, let’s get our life and relationship with ADONAI in order. Do it today and stay alert! There are definitely signs that we are moving ever closer to the coming judgment and events that will precede this. Furthermore, this might all sound like doom and gloom, but, remember the third section of the prophesy:

It’s not a time to be sad, but a time for joy. For  “ADONAI has removed the judgments against you, he has expelled your enemy; the king of Isra’el, ADONAI, is right there with you. You no longer need to fear that anything bad will happen.”

The nations will be in anxiety and bewilderment, and the sinners will fear and faint (Luke 21: 25 to 26) at the events to come, but we will be singing, shouting and praising ADONAI! We will be liberated! Our King, Yeshua Ha Mashiach (the Messiah) is with us.

All glory to our King of Israel!

This Shabbat

A call to return to the God of our Salvation (Teshuvah / תשובה)

Shabbat Shalom, friends!

Tis the season to repent; to return to ADONAI (interestingly, the season will open with a solar eclipse – the total solar eclipse over America). In a couple of days, it will be 40 days until the appointed time of Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement – Leviticus 23:27) and also a month before Yom Teruah (the Day of blowing the Shofar / Trumpets – Leviticus 23:24).  The appointed times are found in Leviticus 23.

If you aren’t already observing these appointed times, should you keep these? Well, let’s consider this: Yeshua (Jesus) said in Matthew 5:17 to 18:

17 “Don’t think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete.

18 Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud or a stroke will pass from the Torah — not until everything that must happen has happened.

The King James version actually uses the word “destroy”.

17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

These appointed times aren’t just Jewish high holidays nor Israel’s holiday. These are “the designated times of ADONAI which you are to proclaim as holy convocations are my designated times”(Leviticus 23:2). It is for you to decide whether you want to observe these appointed times. Just consider this: ADONAI gave us his instructions (Torah) and HIS designated times to observe. Throughout Yeshua’s ministry, He discussed, referred to and fulfilled the Torah, the Prophets and the Writings (Psalms and Proverbs). Perhaps, it’s worthwhile looking into these appointed times for yourself?

Returning to the number “40”. The number “40” is one of those special numbers found in the Bible. The number “40” appears numerous times in the Word of God for example, the rains (in Noah’s day) fell for 40 days and nights (Genesis 7:4); Moshe / Moses was with God in the mount, 40 days and nights (Exodus 24:18); Goliath presented himself to Israel for 40 days (1 Samuel 17:16) ; ADONAI gave Nineveh 40 days to repent (Jonah 3:4); Yeshua fasted 40 days and nights (Matthew 4:2) to name a few of these verses.

While I was planning this blog post, I was drawn to the Book of Hosea. (Please note: every name in the Bible has a meaning and Hoshea also means “salvation”. Interestingly, Moshe / Moses renamed Hoshea, son of Nun to Y’hoshua (Joshua) in Numbers 13:16 and the name Y’hoshua was later changed to Yeshua right before the New Covenant  / Testament period. You can read my blog post on this in “Revealed: the name of the Jewish messiah“).

If we read from the Book of Hosea, the Prophet Hosea, discussed the sins committed by Israel and Judah. In particular, he pointed out their murderous behaviour and sexual sin.

Hosea 6: 7 – 10:

7″But they, just like men, have broken the covenant, they have been faithless in dealing with me.

8 Gil’ad is a city of criminals, covered with bloody footprints;

9just as bands of robbers wait to ambush someone, so does a gang of cohanim. They commit murder on the road to Sh’khem! Their conduct is an outrage!

10 In the house of Isra’el I have seen a horrible thing; whoring is found there in Efrayim, Isra’el is defiled.

Yeshua, as the Messiah and Son of ADONAI also discussed and qualified these in Matthew 5 21 to 22 and 27 to 29:

21 “You have heard that our fathers were told, `Do not murder,’l and that anyone who commits murder will be subject to judgment.

22 But I tell you that anyone who nurses anger against his brother will be subject to judgment; that whoever calls his brother, `You good-for-nothing!’ will be brought before the Sanhedrin; that whoever says, `Fool!’ incurs the penalty of burning in the fire of Gei-Hinnom!

27 “You have heard that our fathers were told, `Do not commit adultery.’m

28 But I tell you that a man who even looks at a woman with the purpose of lusting after her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

29 If your right eye makes you sin, gouge it out and throw it away! Better that you should lose one part of you than have your whole body thrown into Gei-Hinnom.

Does this sounds like the world today? Not what the world wants to hear. This is the kingdom of satan, attempting to direct us away from ADONAI, even to destroy us. The kingdom of satan is founded on murder, hate, the spirit of whoring, sexual sin, lies and deceit. Make a stand against satan!

We also read in James 4: 7 to 10:

7 Therefore, submit to God. Moreover, take a stand against the Adversary, and he will flee from you. 8 Come close to God, and he will come close to you. Clean your hands, sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded people! 9 Wail, mourn, sob! Let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy into gloom! 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

ADONAI has a plan for us to make this stand and to receive salvation. ADONAI gave these prophetic words to the Prophet Hosea to record thousands of years ago. The message here is very clear: no matter your sins, return to ADONAI. Confess your sins and sin no more. Our God, the Almighty Living God of Israel, will save us, heal us, give us grace and show us his ways. ADONAI, is the God of our Salvation! (In Hebrew: EL Yeshuati Isaiah 12: 2-3):

Hosea 6 1-3:

1 Come, let us return to ADONAI; for he has torn, and he will heal us; he has struck, and he will bind our wounds.

2 After two days, he will revive us; on the third day, he will raise us up; and we will live in his presence.

3 Let us know, let us strive to know ADONAI. That he will come is as certain as morning; he will come to us like the rain, like the spring rains that water the earth.

Hosea 12 6(5):

5 Adonai ELOHEI-Tzva’ot; ADONAI is his name!

6 So you, return to your God; hold fast to grace and justice; and always put your hope in your God.

Hosea 14 2(1):

Return, Isra’el, to ADONAI your God, for your guilt has made you stumble.

2 Take words with you, and return to ADONAI; say to him, “Forgive all guilt, and accept what is good; we will pay instead of bulls [the offerings of] our lips.

Hosea 14: 9:

9 Let the wise understand these things, and let the discerning know them. For the ways of ADONAI are straight, And the righteous walk in them, but in them sinners stumble.

Hosea 3: 4- 5:

4 For the people of Isra’el are going to be in seclusion for a long time without a king, prince, sacrifice, standing-stone, ritual vest or household gods.

5 Afterwards, the people of Isra’el will repent and seek ADONAI their God and David their king; they will come trembling to ADONAI and his goodness in the acharit-hayamim.

Also in Micah 7:18:

18 Who is a God like you, pardoning the sin and overlooking the crimes of the remnant of his heritage? He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in grace.

Thus, not matter your sin – seek ADONAI. Cry out to HIM, with tears in your eyes, if you have to. Repent and return. Try to observe ADONAI’S appointed times, if you can – it’s your decision. Our father, ADONAI wants you to be in HIS presence on these days. He wants to reveal HIS power, signs / wonders in the skies, HIS plan and character to you on a personal level. It’s an open invitation every year. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you are from. Perhaps you’ll meet ADONAI for the first time or you’ll rediscover HIM or take your belief to the next level by discovering something new in the Word of God that you haven’t read before. Remember: ADONAI wants you to be part of His olive tree. Jew and Gentile together.

Science vs Biblical Truth: Flat Earth or Circle?

Apparently, there is a growing movement of people who believe that the earth is flat. Yes, this isn’t fake news and you can access the article here. In another article, the history behind the possible discovery that the earth is a sphere is given and that Pythagoras (Greek philosopher & mathematician) “provides the earliest arguments for why the Earth is round” in 500 BC.

What does the Word of God say? Well, ADONAI, the Almighty Living God of Israel, revealed to the Prophet Isaiah, between 742 and 689 BC that the earth is a sphere. In Isaiah 40:22 :

22 He who sits above the circle of the earth – for whom its inhabitants appear like grasshoppers – stretches out the heavens like a curtain, spreads them out like a tent to live in.

Biblical truth is beautiful, pure and correct!

This Shabbat

Let Yeshua calm the storm in your life

Shabbat Shalom, my Jewish and Gentile Friends!

I’d like to say thank you for following my blog and the likes. It’s all very much appreciated! 😊

For this Shabbat, we read in Matthew / Mattityahu  8: 23-27; (with the same account in Mark 4: 35-41 and Luke 8 22-25 ) that

[Yeshua]  boarded the boat, and his talmidim followed. 24 Then, without warning, a furious storm arose on the lake, so that waves were sweeping over the boat. But yeshua was sleeping. 25 So they came and roused him, saying, “Sir! Help! We’re about to die!” 26 He said to them, “Why are you afraid? So little trust you have!” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and there was a dead calm. 27 The men were astounded. They asked, “What kind of man is this, that even the winds and sea obey him?”

I’m sure you’ve read this account many times before. Have you noticed that Yeshua was sleeping, the people thought that they were about to be killed and then Yeshua responded? Also, have you read this in conjunction with the verses below?

If we read Dani’el 7: 21 -22:

I watched, and that horn made war with the holy ones and was winning, 22 until the Ancient One came, judgment was given in favor of the holy ones of the Most High, and the time came for the holy ones to take over the kingdom.

The same with Zechariah 14: 1- 5, the nations will fight against Yerushalayim ( or Israel) and it will appear that these enemy armies will be winning and then ADONAI will strike back.

Look, a day is coming for Adonai

when your plunder, [Yerushalayim], will be divided

right there within you.

2 “For I will gather all the nations

against Yerushalayim for war.

The city will be taken,

the houses will be rifled,

the women will be raped,

and half the city will go into exile;

but the rest of the people

will not be cut off from the city.”

3 Then Adonai will go out

and fight against those nations,

fighting as on a day of battle.

4 On that day his feet will stand

on the Mount of Olives,

which lies to the east of Yerushalayim;

and the Mount of Olives will be split in half

from east to west, to make a huge valley.

Half of the mountain will move toward the north,

and half of it toward the south.

5 You will flee to the valley in the mountains,

for the valley in the mountains will reach to Atzel.

You will flee, just as you fled before the earthquake

in the days of ‘Uziyah king of Y’hudah.

Then Adonai my God will come

to you with all the holy ones.

Also in the Book of Revelation where there will be suffering of the believers, (the Great Persecution / Tribulation),  but then ADONAI’s will be victorious in the end. Let’s read Revelation 13 1- 10:

“ and I saw a beast come up out of the sea, with ten horns and seven heads. On its horns were ten royal crowns and on its heads blasphemous names. 2 The beast which I saw was like a leopard, but with feet like those of a bear and a mouth like the mouth of a lion. To it the dragon gave its power, its throne and great authority. 3 One of the heads of the beast appeared to have received a fatal wound, but its fatal wound was healed, and the whole earth followed after the beast in amazement. 4 They worshipped the dragon, because he had given his authority to the beast; and they worshipped the beast, saying,

“Who is like the beast?

Who can fight against it?”

5 It was given a mouth speaking arrogant blasphemies; and it was given authority to act for forty-two months. 6 So it opened its mouth in blasphemies against God to insult his name and his Sh’khinah, and those living in heaven; 7 it was allowed to make war on God’s holy people and to defeat them; and it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. 8 Everyone living on earth will worship it except those whose names are written in the Book of Life belonging to the Lamb slaughtered before the world was founded. 9 Those who have ears, let them hear!

10 “If anyone is meant for captivity,

into captivity he goes!

If anyone is to be killed with the sword,

with the sword he is to be killed!”[a]

This is when God’s holy people must persevere and trust!

If we look at the above-mentioned verses from the Prophets and the Brit Chadasha (New Testament), there is a definite pattern here: there is an attack or war on believers and it looks like the adversary (ha satan) will win, but then ADONAI acts.

These verses also refer to an attack (or a war) on the the believers as a collective group, but sometimes, a much smaller version of this attack or war from the adversary happens in our lives.   If you are experiencing something in your life now, remember Yeshua’s words in Matthew / Mattityahu 8 verse 26 “[Yeshua] said to them, “Why are you afraid? So little trust you have!”. We should hold on to this truth that has been revealed to us by Yeshua, The King of Israel. The same applies to the coming “storm”, if you know what I mean.  Keep awake and trust in Yeshua!

Remember the formula: praise + pray + prophesy = walking with ELOHIM (ADONAI, Yeshua & Ruach ha Kodesh / Holy Spirit).

I hope you have a peaceful Shabbat and good week!

This Shabbat

A woman reached out to Yeshua (Yeshua’s interaction with women)

Shabbat Shalom, friends.

We read that during Yeshua’s ministry in the Land of Israel, there are a number of accounts where He had interactions with both Jewish and Gentile women.  These are remarkable as Yeshua broke social stigma, valued women’s testimonies and effort; healed women, saved a woman for being stoned and encouraged women to study the Word of God.  In today’s terminology, He could be seen as promoting women’s rights.

Let’s read through these:

Divorce

Matthew (Mattityahu) 5:31-32

31 “It was said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife must give her a get.’[d]32 But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except on the ground of fornication, makes her an adulteress; and that anyone who marries a divorcee commits adultery.

Healing

Matthew (Mattityahu)  9:20-21

20 A woman who had had a hemorrhage for twelve years approached him from behind and touched the tzitzit on his robe. 21 For she said to herself, “If I can only touch his robe, I will be healed.” 22 Yeshua turned, saw her and said, “Courage, daughter! Your trust has healed you.” And she was instantly healed.

Matthew (Mattityahu) 9:18-19;23-26

18 While he was talking, an official came in, kneeled down in front of him and said, “My daughter has just died. But if you come and lay your hand on her, she will live.” 19 Yeshua, with his talmidim, got up and followed him.

23 When Yeshua arrived at the official’s house and saw the flute-players, and the crowd in an uproar, 24 he said, “Everybody out! The girl isn’t dead, she’s only sleeping!” And they jeered at him. 25 But after the people had been put outside, he entered and took hold of the girl’s hand, and she got up. 26 News of this spread through all that region.

Effort & contribution

Mark 12:41-44

41 Then Yeshua sat down opposite the Temple treasury and watched the crowd as they put money into the offering-boxes. Many rich people put in large sums, 42 but a poor widow came and put in two small coins. 43 He called his talmidim to him and said to them, “Yes! I tell you, this poor widow has put more in the offering-box than all the others making donations. 44 For all of them, out of their wealth, have contributed money they can easily spare; but she, out of her poverty, has given everything she had to live on.”

Testimony of a gentile woman

John (Yochanan) 4:5-42

He came to a town in Shomron called Sh’khem, near the field Ya‘akov had given to his son Yosef. Ya‘akov’s Well was there; so Yeshua, exhausted from his travel, sat down by the well; it was about noon. A woman from Shomron came to draw some water; and Yeshua said to her, “Give me a drink of water.” (His talmidim had gone into town to buy food.) The woman from Shomron said to him, “How is it that you, a Jew, ask for water from me, a woman of Shomron?” (For Jews don’t associate with people from Shomron.) 10 Yeshua answered her, “If you knew God’s gift, that is, who it is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink of water,’ then you would have asked him; and he would have given you living water.”

11 She said to him, “Sir, you don’t have a bucket, and the well is deep; so where do you get this ‘living water’? 12 You aren’t greater than our father Ya‘akov, are you? He gave us this well and drank from it, and so did his sons and his cattle.” 13 Yeshua answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will get thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I will give him will never be thirsty again! On the contrary, the water I give him will become a spring of water inside him, welling up into eternal life!”

15 “Sir, give me this water,” the woman said to him, “so that I won’t have to be thirsty and keep coming here to draw water.” 16 He said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come back.” 17 She answered, “I don’t have a husband.” Yeshua said to her, “You’re right, you don’t have a husband! 18 You’ve had five husbands in the past, and you’re not married to the man you’re living with now! You’ve spoken the truth!”

19 “Sir, I can see that you are a prophet,” the woman replied. 20 “Our fathers worshipped on this mountain, but you people say that the place where one has to worship is in Yerushalayim.” 21 Yeshua said, “Lady, believe me, the time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Yerushalayim. 22 You people don’t know what you are worshipping; we worship what we do know, because salvation comes from the Jews. 23 But the time is coming — indeed, it’s here now — when the true worshippers will worship the Father spiritually and truly, for these are the kind of people the Father wants worshipping him. 24 God is spirit; and worshippers must worship him spiritually and truly.

25 The woman replied, “I know that Mashiach is coming” (that is, “the one who has been anointed”). “When he comes, he will tell us everything.” 26 Yeshua said to her, “I, the person speaking to you, am he.”

27 Just then, his talmidim arrived. They were amazed that he was talking with a woman; but none of them said, “What do you want?” or, “Why are you talking with her?” 28 So the woman left her water-jar, went back to the town and said to the people there, 29 “Come, see a man who told me everything I’ve ever done. Could it be that this is the Messiah?” 30 They left the town and began coming toward him.

31 Meanwhile, the talmidim were urging Yeshua, “Rabbi, eat something.” 32 But he answered, “I have food to eat that you don’t know about.” 33 At this, the talmidim asked one another, “Could someone have brought him food?” 34 Yeshua said to them, “My food is to do what the one who sent me wants and to bring his work to completion. 35 Don’t you have a saying, ‘Four more months and then the harvest’? Well, what I say to you is: open your eyes and look at the fields! They’re already ripe for harvest! 36 The one who reaps receives his wages and gathers fruit for eternal life, so that the reaper and the sower may be glad together — 37 for in this matter, the proverb, ‘One sows and another reaps,’ holds true. 38 I sent you to reap what you haven’t worked for. Others have done the hard labor, and you have benefited from their work.”

39 Many people from that town in Shomron put their trust in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me all the things I did.” 40 So when these people from Shomron came to him, they asked him to stay with them. He stayed two days, 41 and many more came to trust because of what he said. 42 They said to the woman, “We no longer trust because of what you said, because we have heard for ourselves. We know indeed that this man really is the Savior of the world.”

Stopped the stoning of a woman

John (Yochanan) 8:1-11

But Yeshua went to the Mount of Olives. At daybreak, he appeared again in the Temple Court, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. The Torah-teachers and the P’rushim brought in a woman who had been caught committing adultery and made her stand in the center of the group. Then they said to him, “Rabbi, this woman was caught in the very act of committing adultery. Now in our Torah, Moshe commanded that such a woman be stoned to death. What do you say about it?” They said this to trap him, so that they might have ground for bringing charges against him; but Yeshua bent down and began writing in the dust with his finger. When they kept questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “The one of you who is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” Then he bent down and wrote in the dust again. On hearing this, they began to leave, one by one, the older ones first, until he was left alone, with the woman still there. 10 Standing up, Yeshua said to her, “Where are they? Has no one condemned you?” 11 She said, “No one, sir.” Yeshua said, “Neither do I condemn you. Now go, and don’t sin any more.”

Encouragement to study the Word of God

Luke 10:38-42

38 On their way Yeshua and his talmidim came to a village where a woman named Marta welcomed him into her home. 39 She had a sister called Miryam who also sat at the Lord’s feet and heard what he had to say. 40 But Marta was busy with all the work to be done; so, going up to him, she said, “Sir, don’t you care that my sister has been leaving me to do all the work by myself?” 41 However, the Lord answered her, “Marta, Marta, you are fretting and worrying about so many things! 42 But there is only one thing that is essential. Miryam has chosen the right thing, and it won’t be taken away from her.”

First appearance after resurrection

Matthew (Mattityahu) 28: 1-8

After Shabbat, as the next day was dawning, Miryam of Magdala and the other Miryam went to see the grave. Suddenly there was a violent earthquake, for an angel of Adonai came down from heaven, rolled away the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were as white as snow. The guards were so terrified at him that they trembled and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, “Don’t be afraid. I know you are looking for Yeshua, who was executed on the stake. He is not here, because he has been raised — just as he said! Come and look at the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell the talmidim, ‘He has been raised from the dead, and now he is going to the Galil ahead of you. You will see him there.’ Now I have told you.”

So they left the tomb quickly, frightened yet filled with joy; and they ran to give the news to his talmidimSuddenly Yeshua met them and said, “Shalom!” They came up and took hold of his feet as they fell down in front of him. 10 Then Yeshua said to them, “Don’t be afraid! Go and tell my brothers to go to the Galil, and they will see me there.”

To conclude: Women – reach out to Yeshua, throw all your anxieties upon him, because he cares about you (1 Peter (Kefa) 5:7). Remember that you are beautiful! Have a peaceful Shabbat.

Please check out this testimony of a woman saved by Yeshua during a vision. Remarkable!

The Aaronic Blessing: Numbers (B’midbar) 6: 22-27

22 Adonai said to Moshe, 23 “Speak to Aharon and his sons, and tell them that this is how you are to bless the people of Isra’el: you are to say to them,

24 Y’varekh’kha Adonai v’yishmerekha.
[May Adonai bless you and keep you.]
25 Ya’er Adonai panav eleikha vichunekka.
[May Adonai make his face shine on you and show you his favor.]
26 Yissa Adonai panav eleikha v’yasem l’kha shalom.
[May Adonai lift up his face toward you and give you peace.]’

27 “In this way they are to put my name on the people of Isra’el, so that I will bless them.”

This Shabbat

Yeshua taught us how to pray

Shabbat Shalom, friends!

In order to tap into the Almighty Living God of Israel’s power, we should praise, pray and prophesy (that is, study bible prophesy and try to make sense of these). The Word of God and the Ruach ha Kodesh (Holy Spirit) will guide us to accomplish this.

For this shabbat, I’m reading Yeshua’s instructions how to pray. I’ve divided the bible verses into 4 main sections: prayer basics, trust, lifting of hands and praying in the name of Yeshua. Let’s have a look at these verses and let the Word of God guide us.

Firstly, let’s read about the basics:

In Matthew 6: 4-13, Yeshua said” 4 Then your tzedakah will be in secret; and your Father, who sees what you do in secret, will reward you.5 “When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites, who love to pray standing in the synagogues and on street corners, so that people can see them. Yes! I tell you, they have their reward already!6 But you, when you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. Your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.7 “And when you pray, don’t babble on and on like the pagans, who think God will hear them better if they talk a lot.8 Don’t be like them, because your Father knows what you need before you ask him.9 You, therefore, pray like this: `Our Father in heaven! May your Name be kept holy.10 May your Kingdom come, your will be done on earth as in heaven.11 Give us the food we need today.12 Forgive us what we have done wrong, as we too have forgiven those who have wronged us.13 And do not lead us into hard testing, but keep us safe from the Evil One. For kingship, power and glory are yours forever. Amen.'”

Further in Matthew 7, Yeshua also explained “ 7 “Keep asking, and it will be given to you; keep seeking, and you will find; keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who keeps asking receives; he who keeps seeking finds; and to him who keeps knocking, the door will be opened. 9Is there anyone here who, if his son asks him for a loaf of bread, will give him a stone? 10 or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 So if you, even though you are bad, know how to give your children gifts that are good, how much more will your Father in heaven keep giving good things to those who keep asking him!”

Sha’ul also added thatas you pray at all times, with all kinds of prayers and requests, in the Spirit, vigilantly and persistently, for all God’s people.”(Ephesians 6:18) and further in James 5: 13 -18  “13 Is someone among you in trouble? He should pray. Is someone feeling good? He should sing songs of praise. 14 Is someone among you ill? He should call for the elders of the congregation. They will pray for him and rub olive oil on him in the name of the Lord. 15 The prayer offered with trust will heal the one who is ill – the Lord will restore his health; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. 16 Therefore, openly acknowledge your sins to one another, and pray for each other, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. 17Eliyahu was only a human being like us; yet he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and no rain fell on the Land for three years and six months. 18 Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the Land produced its crops.”

Secondly, we should have trust when you pray

In Matthew 21: 19 – 22, Yeshua “19 [s]potting a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. So he said to it, “May you never again bear fruit!” and immediately the fig tree dried up. 20 The talmidim saw this and were amazed. “How did the fig tree dry up so quickly?” they asked. 21 Yeshua answered them, “Yes! I tell you, if you have trust and don’t doubt, you will not only do what was done to this fig tree; but even if you say to this mountain, `Go and throw yourself into the sea!’ it will be done. 22 In other words, you will receive everything you ask for in prayer, no matter what it is, provided you have trust.”

Also in Mark 11: 20 – 26 “ 20 In the morning, as the talmidim passed by, they saw the fig tree withered all the way to its roots. 21 Kefa remembered and said to Yeshua, “Rabbi! Look! The fig tree that you cursed has dried up!” 22 He responded, “Have the kind of trust that comes from God! 23 Yes! I tell you that whoever does not doubt in his heart but trusts that what he says will happen can say to this mountain, ‘Go and throw yourself into the sea!’ and it will be done for him. 24 Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, trust that you are receiving it, and it will be yours. 25 And when you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him; so that your Father in heaven may also forgive your offenses.” 26”

Thirdly, lift your hands when you pray.

The concept of lifting one’s hands when communicating with ADONAI appears throughout the Tanakh and Brit Chadasha (from the Torah to Revelations). Yeshua also raised his hands in prayer in Luke 24:50 when He “led them out toward Beit-Anyah; then, raising his hands, he said a b’rakhah over them;”. We also read in 1 Timothy 2:8[t]herefore, it is my wish that when the men pray, no matter where, they should lift up hands that are holy – they should not become angry or get into arguments.

In the Tanakh (Old Testament), we read in the Torah that “Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and blessed them, and he stepped down after making the sin offering and the burnt offering and the peace offerings”( Leviticus 9:22). In 1 Kings 8:22 “[t]hen Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the assembly of Israel and spread out his hands toward heaven.” In the Writings / K’tuvim, “[s]o I will bless You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name” (Psalm 63:4). In Lamentations 3:41 “[w]e lift up our heart and hands toward God in heaven” and in Ezra 9:5 “[b]ut at the evening offering I arose from my humiliation, even with my garment and my robe torn, and I fell on my knees and stretched out my hands to the LORD my God;”

Finally, pray in the name of Yeshua Mashiach / Yeshua the Messiah / Jesus the Messiah

In Matthew 28:18 we read that Yeshua came and talked with them. He said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”

Thus, to conclude: whenever you pray – let’s use the basics taught about Yeshua, let’s lift our hands, pray like Eliyahu (Elijah) with trust and in the name of Yeshua. Always give thanks to ADONAI; for He is good, for His grace continues forever (Psalm 118:1) and remember that the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

As a final thought, I’d like to think that the time Eliyahu lived in before he called fire from heaven i.e showed ADONAI’S power, is sort of a prophetic vision of our time: The priests / clergy / rabbis (however you want to refer to them), as in that time, aren’t following ADONAI, but are following other gods (corruption and following other own agenda of power and control), some governments (like King Ahab) are supposedly following ADONAI but in reality, these institutions always want to play it safe and support all kinds of idolatry and religions; and the people aren’t following ADONAI due to the false priests and are partying, not like it’s 1999, but as in the days of Noah. However, there is a remnant serving, praising, and praying; and walking with ADONAI. Then, ADONAI’S power was revealed to everyone. In 2017, we Jews and Gentiles, together who follow Yeshua are this remnant. We’re rebuilding the Altar of ADONAI.

Please pray for the protection of European Jews, Christians in the Middle East and that Muslims will find truth and salvation in Yeshua.

Have a peaceful Shabbat and a good week!

Prophetic

Hear the call: Sh’ma (Hear Israel)

Hear the call, Israel!

Hear, my words, Israel, you beautiful olive tree consisting of Jew and Gentile believers.

Hear, Israel: we, the remnant come in the spirit and power of Eliyahu, the prophet of old! We praise, pray and prophesy before the return of our King, our Jewish Messiah, our Salvation, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, the Branch of King David – Yeshua ha Mashiach.

Hear Israel, what do you say to confess your faith when coming face to face with the adversary?

We say…we sing as loud as we can: “Sh’ma, Yisra’el! ADONAI Eloheinu, ADONAI echad [Hear, Isra’el! ADONAI our God, ADONAI is one]; and then we pray, like we’ve never prayed before, like Eliyahu, the prophet, we pray as if we want to bring fire from Heaven,  we sing songs and dance like King David and we blow the Shofar! We are prayer warriors!

Halleluyah!

May Yeshua Mashiach bless you and your family

Sh’ma by yossi azulay
Deuteronomy 6 4-9:
4 “Sh’ma, Yisra’el! ADONAI Eloheinu, ADONAI echad [Hear, Isra’el! ADONAI our God, ADONAI is one];
5 and you are to love ADONAI your God with all your heart, all your being and all your resources.
6 These words, which I am ordering you today, are to be on your heart;
7 and you are to teach them carefully to your children. You are to talk about them when you sit at home, when you are traveling on the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
8 Tie them on your hand as a sign, put them at the front of a headband around your forehead,
9and write them on the door-frames of your house and on your gates.
